We will all age at some point and it is normal and human to show wrinkles. This does not mean, of course, that we can not delay them a bit! In addition to wrinkles of aging, there are wrinkles of expression as well as some other types of wrinkles that young people have. So if we face a wrinkle as we look at our beautiful face in our mirror, it does not necessarily mean that we’ve grown old! But let’s take things from the beginning. What are wrinkles?
A wrinkle is the breakdown of collagen and elastin fibers in depth. It is caused by the continuous mobility of the skin as this is found around the mouth, at the corners of the eyes and on the forehead. These are the main points that inevitably move when we talk, we express joy or sorrow.
How is a wrinkle formed?
The cells of the skin that feed and produce new collagen and elastin need oxygen bove all. Oxygen is transferred to our body by inhalation and through blood circulation it is distributed to all body cells as well as to skin tissue. At the point where the skin breaks down from our facial expressions, the blood flow stops abruptly, so the cells there are not oxygenated, causing the collagen and elastin to weaken and the skin cell barriers at these points break.
